COD: Modern Warfare 2

This post is almost a week past due, sumimasen- was too hooked onto the multiplayer to be doing anything else during my leisure hours. ^^'

As many gamers should know, last week was the release of what seems will inherit the crown as best shooters up to date: COD Modern Warfare2. As my copy was still shipping here, I went on a little trip to Best Buy and picked up a 12month Gold subscription to Xbox Live. Also noticed as I walked in that they had set up a mini table with the 3 editions of the game, including the Prestige edition!

Also received a wrinkly MWF:2 shirt along with my card- *huge feet not included.

Taken on the day I received it. I immediately popped it in the 360 after the snap.

On a similar note, I've just received the demo of Bayonetta and will soon post that up along with some other possible gaming goodies~!

First figma get!

My first figma arrived yesterday from Hobby Link Japan! It arrived much soon as it was shipped by SAL. Came exactly one week after I ordered.

And it's Konata from Lucky★Star or otherwise known as 'Legendary Girl A' in this hilarious clip:

My Exia desk guard doesn't seem to get along with the new girl.. ^^'

...-sweat drop-

No figures nor Gundams were harmed in the making of this photo shoot. Exia seems to regret being a 1/144 scale however..

And before I forget, Konata Summer Ver. also came with Yutaka, Konata's cousin.~

Wallet Warz: Standard Edition MadCatz FightStick Get

Apologies for the lack of updates as of late. Having a lot of stress from school and regular life. Hopefully I'll get used to this routine soon and will follow up with more goody randomness.
I've also noticed a huge increase in page hits lately which was the result of my name being mentioned on Danny's site. His influential power sometimes frighten me.. ^^;

To sum up my reason as to why I've been missing for the past few weeks, I've been playing BlazBlue. And of course, spent the rest of my time sleeping in class. -smirk-
I've also picked up Clannad-After Story as I left it sitting there for about a few months after watching episode 10. My friend in class later reminded me of its awesomeness and was pretty much forced to get into it again. I noticed that onwards after episode 10 the pacing of the story changes dramatically and there isn't (if any) funny scenes like there were in the first season. Nonetheless it's still very entertaining.

Before this turns into a Clannad topic, I will counter it with news on my most recent get. A Japanese box with buttons! However in America, we call them American box with buttons -insert awesome face here-. I got a nifty bargain from a 3rd party seller at buy.com selling it for about half of the MSRP. Although my stick came about a month ago, the Sanwa Denchi parts arrived just recently which is mainly what the guts of this post is about.

Why gut out the parts on a brand spanking new stick? The MadCatz Standard Edition stick comes with MadCatz parts. With that said, those parts are destined to be replaced as they are as useless as those buttons built on the sidewalk traffic lights (if you live in NY, you would know what I'm talking about). These new parts I ordered are the exact same ones you would see/use in a typical arcade unit. In the end, it's definitely worth paying for the Sanwa parts; even if the parts alone costed more than the stick itself... ... ....... orz

Few videos from my recent games. I see a huge improvement compared to my previous post.

Oh and....

How I Spend My Remaining Vacation Days

Woke up this morning and the air smelled like autumn when I opened the windows.
I hate it..
What I hate more is that the insane asylum known as school will open once more soon.

I'm currently trying to relieve myself by watching a bit of anime and playing BlazBlue.

Few of the videos below are me playing as Tager(big red dood) during the free Xbox Live Gold weekend. :

I has finally perfected the video settings and stretched it to fit on YouTube.

-sigh-
I'm going to miss the careless days of summer..~ T_T

EasyCap- Play/Record X360 Games Off Desktop!

There was a time during my chibi years where I wondered how people could record such quality while playing on their consoles. As I pondered for months, searching almost every website I could find, I soon gave up and resorted to use a digital camera for recording matches.
Below is a match recorded while sparring with my friend in Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4. I'm the one playing neji~(video is almost 4 years old!):

Many light years later, my curiosity has surfaced once more after I scanned through YouTube for BlazBlue matchups/combos. This time, I've finally found the answer to capturing such videos- EasyCap.
After google-questing for a bit, I came across a person who has the same question as me. In short, I found out that this can be done by using a "capture card". In short, I purchased one via Amazon for 15usd shipped.

Setting up this was fairly easy (besides the fact that Vista was being a ***** with recognizing the driver). Below shows me plugging in the composite cables from my 360 to the input composites on the EasyCap. On the other end of the EasyCap, there's a USB which connects to my desktop.

Below shows a test video of my nubby Ryu in SF4. Hopefully the quality and resolution will improve on the next video as I now have more new settings to play with. ^^

Now that my 360 is next to my monitor, it's also next to my modem! I'll be one Xbox live more often now so feel free to add me, my GT is MirageStrike.
Now off to play my Batman demo~~~~~~~~!

My Ex arrived in bits and pieces inside the mailbox today.

Before I get into details with the topic, I'd like to thank all of the viewers and passerby lurkers who contributed in making my hit counter over 1k. Next goal, 9000+, mwahaha! Hopefully this blog will grow bigger someday as I find more interesting things to write about.

Before anyone thinks I'm a homicidal maniac, I want to inform that my 1/144 scale FG Exia has arrived in the mail today. To my excitement, I began assembling him right away.

The last time I've worked on Gunpla was back in middle school when I received it as a birthday gift from a friend. Back then, I wasn't anywhere near interested in the Gundam series and had no idea on the background information on Gunplas I was building. Even so, I ended up finishing it.. poorly that is (nubs showing, never bothered with paint, 100% reliant on stickers). Now that I've watched the SEED and the Double'O series, I can't get enough of them. I took the old SEED models from the box and worshiped them on shelf above my bed. And now, I'm starting out Gunpla again by purchasing FG Exia to start off. My current goal is to get FG Kyrios,Dynames, and Virtue to go along with my current Exia. I also wish to get my hands on a 1/100 scale Dynames as Lock-On is one of my favorites in both seasons~.

Assembling the al'mighty Exia. Couldn't get my hands on a Hobby knife, so I had to improvise... with a box cutter! ..It fails. orz

デキマシタ! (It's finished!)

The detailing is excellent despite being First Grade kit. I has ordered a set of Gundam Markers that should be coming any moment.

New Get: Limited Edition BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger

Arrived back from my vacation a few days ago and spent the last few days resting as i was feeling a bit ill after coming back. Got my hands on a copy of BlazBlue yesterday and spent the day playing with my friend. As a budget Otaku, I usually wouldn't go for games for full price, but this gem was an exception.

What contributed to this whopping 60USD purchase was the positive reviews from IGN,CAG, and GT as well as my sudden craving for a fighter game(didn't own a single fighter game before BB x_x;). Of course, I've considered getting SF4 but the price for that game hasn't dropped much (or at all) in this area considering how long it has been sitting in the shelves..

Did I think it was worth it?
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: It was well worth the money as it satisfied my craving for a beat em up 2d fighter. The battle animations as well as the feel to the combos was just excellent and more user friendly than the controls in King of Fighters series; a huge plus! I'm trying out the story mode right now and It's pretty much up to my expectations. The story mode is pretty much has the look and feel as a visual novel except with very little routes to take(the story is kept mainstream).

Another huge plus I would give to this game is the option to change subtitles, vooice language for the game so if you're like me and hate American dubs, you can change it to Japanese Aud. and leave the text to English. There are also many subtitles to offer other than Japanese/English such as Chinese and Portuguese(?).

I wouldn't say this game is prefect but it's a definite must for anyone whose interested in Anime and Loves action or those whose a fan of 2D fighters such as Melty Blood and Guilty Gear. A few things I thought that needs improvement is the variety of characters as well as having a Cut-scene for special attacks (I'm a sucker for these). Although the characters each have a very distinct and unique personality, I would love to have a larger variety of characters that would boost the replay value of this game; the game currently has 12 characters to choose from.

As this post was originally meant to inform that I've got the game, I noticed that i pretty much turned it into a mini review post.. ^^'
But since the damage has already been done, I would like give this game a rating of 9 out of 10. One of the best 360 games I've played since 2009. I can't wait to play with others online when I get chance~!

"Rating: 9 of 10"

P.S: My Limited edition version came with a 2 disk soundtrack containing the 42 tracks used in the game as well as Remixes by DJ OH NO!(on the left of the pick above)
Also included with a DVD containing the tutorial as well as expert tipsN'strategies for newbies like myself.
